Parking Options for People with Disabilities

Parking Options for Campus Affiliates with Disabilities

To park in an ADA space on campus, students, faculty, and staff must have a state-issued ADA placard or license plate (permanent or temporary) along with a valid UT permit (excludes N, N+, and M permits). After 5:45 p.m. and on weekends, only the state-issued ADA placard or license plate will be required. Individuals should purchase either a staff A Permit or a student C Permit to display in conjunction with a state-issued ADA placard or license plate. For temporary disabilities, individuals must obtain a temporary ADA credential through the state and display it with their existing permit.

Parking Options for Visitors with Disabilities

7:30 a.m. – 5:45 p.m., Monday – Friday

Parking is available for persons with disabilities in all garages for a fee. Those visitors with disabilities displaying the state issued ADA placard or license plate may park in any space reserved for persons with disabilities in University parking garages. If you are unable to locate accessible parking, please visit the nearest guard kiosk for assistance.

All Other Times

Unless there is a University event that requires the use of a surface lot, ADA spaces in surface lots do NOT require University permits after 5:45 p.m. or on weekends and holidays. However, an approved state plate or placard is required at all times to park in ADA spaces. Parking is also available for persons with disabilities in all garages for a fee. During University events, a fee is also required for persons with disabilities in event surface lots.

Disabled Veteran License Plates

Those displaying state issued Disabled Veteran (DV) license plates may stop at a staffed traffic control kiosk to obtain a DV permit to park at a surface ADA designated space.
